About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and implementation of solar energy systems within an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) framework. This role will focus on ensuring the successful delivery of community-scale projects, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the electrical design and engineering of solar energy systems for community and utility-scale projects.
  • Develop and review electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications for solar installations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including NYSERDA requirements and state-specific regulations.
  • Oversee the integration of solar power systems with existing infrastructure and grid connections.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and construction teams to ensure project goals are met.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and performance analysis to optimize system design and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support during project construction, commissioning, and operation phases.
  • Stay current with advancements in solar technology, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Provide interconnection support as needed.
  • Provide commissioning support as needed.
  • Management/project management of external engineering consults.


Requirements:
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license helpful but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering within the EPC and solar energy sectors.
  • Proven experience with community or utility-scale solar projects and battery storage systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of NYSERDA requirements, state-specific regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong experience with interconnection processes, including utility coordination and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in commissioning solar power systems, including system start-up and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues in solar systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on practical application.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
  • Ability to work onsite in Malta, NY Monday-Friday
  • Unrestricted work authorization for the US and high written and verbal English proficiency
  • Familiarity with project management tolls and methodologies
  • Experience with the Inflation Reduction act and its impact on solar projects
  • Highly analytical, ability to research, digest information and to follow-up
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation:

The likely compensation range for this position is $90,000-$140,000 plus a discretionary bonus based on individual and business performance. Your actual salary may be above, in, or below this range, depending on your qualifications and experience.
