This Programming and Test Data Analyst Position will be on a dynamic team responsible for testing unmanned vehicle programs at our customer site in Norfolk, VA and in our Thurston Rd Virginia Beach office. Serco supports the US Navy in the acquisition of new technology used to defend our nation. Our team reviews acquisition documentation, develops test plans, executes test events, collects, and analyzes data, and writes test reports. This includes programs supporting the US Navy's Operation Test Command (OPTEVFOR).
You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco team members to deliver quality test analysis and reports. The team supports Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock Division (CD) Code 80 at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek and Naval Station Norfolk. The position requires the ability to perform underway on Navy vessels and on the waterfront at Naval Station Norfolk. This position will be performed primarily at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek.
Must have an active current DoD Secret Clearance to qualify for position.
In this role, you will:
Perform as a Programming and Test Data Analyst that supports NSWCCD in the review of acquisition documents, development of test, demonstration, and exercise plans, execution of piers ide and underway testing, demonstrations, and exercises, the reduction and analysis of data, and the writing of test, demonstration, and exercise result reports.
Write computer code to create software applications to analyze trials data to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
Use data analytics skills for machine learning, predictive modeling, and experimental design to collect and analyze large quantities of data.
Develop, manage, revise and document programming scripts for data analysis, tabulating, and reporting.
Build and refine mathematical models from collected trials data.
Setup and track configuration management of sensor hardware and data acquisition equipment.
Setup data collection and data management plans for test and demonstration events.
Download, archive, and share test data in accordance with data collection plans and project requirements.
Conduct data reduction, data formatting, exploratory analyses, factor analysis, and other data analysis efforts, as required per event objectives and/or data analysis plan.
Draw inferences from raw and analyzed data to support decisions and future test events.
Assess historical data to support future test, demonstration and Modeling and Simulation events.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, or STEM field. In lieu of a degree, 5 years of experience in the field of test and evaluation or systems engineering.
2 years of experience, preferably one year of experience in the field of test and evaluation or systems engineering.
US citizenship and Secret Security Clearance.
Proficient with Python to develop analysis tools, reduce data, generate data tables and plots
Proficiency with MS-Office software to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Power Point.
Knowledge of the following for surface ships:Test and Evaluation Policy and Methods Management
Platform Performance Trials
Component and Systems Tests
Operational Evaluation
Test Instrumentation and Setup
Test Data Analysis and Reporting
Special Warfare Development Test and Evaluation
Underway Test & Evaluation
Disciplined, takes initiative, optimistic attitude, critical thinker.
Understanding of surface Navy platforms and operations.
Proficiency in technical writing.
The ability to travel at least 25% of the time.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Experience serving on Naval surface ships.
Experience with unmanned systems and platforms highly desirable.
Expertise with SAS, SQL, R, Linux (Ubuntu), and Power BI
