Role Summary:
Join us in advancing the future of electric vehicles at Rivian by taking a pivotal role in managing the software releases that enhance the everyday experience for our customers. As part of the Software Release Management team, you will be responsible for the coordination of monthly software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA). This role involves collaborating closely with the software development, integration, and validation teams to ensure seamless delivery of new software releases across multiple programs and variants.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope and plan the release schedule for monthly OTA updates, ensuring alignment with vehicle hardware capabilities and software development timelines.
Work with technical leads to identify and prioritize bugs/features for inclusion in each release based on technical risk, complexity, and delivery milestones.
Oversee the creation and execution of fleet test plans for software releases, ensuring all updates are thoroughly validated against all hardware variants before deployment.
Strategically leverage development vehicle fleet to assess release readiness and health.
Provide regular updates on release progress and potential issues to the program team and executive management, ensuring transparency and timely communication.
Conduct proper escalations if deliverables are at risk of missing deadlines and implement mitigation strategies to stay on track.
Proactively identify and drive resolution of release blockers and risks to prevent schedule delays while maintaining robust software quality.
Identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements; implement changes after soliciting feedback from the various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical fields with 5+ years relevant experience
5+ years of Technical or Engineering Program Management experience.
Experience with the entire Software Development Lifecycle from user story creation to validation.
Understanding of Software Defined Vehicle architectures and systems.
Experience with iterative test and validation strategies.
Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Expert in agile and waterfall development process using Jira and other program management tools.
Proven track record with software development project planning, progress tracking, and risk management.
Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $132,100 - $165,100 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
