Work in a highly collaborative environment and help define a left-shifted model for Operations engagement with early research and product development activities. In this Director, Operations Technology opportunity, you will make impacts in the following ways
Connect FAST Labs (FL) program personnel with business area (BA) production experts. Understand and strengthen the FL Collaboration Agreement process around manufacturing readiness and ensure internal Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (or similar) are conducted (baseline, recurring) throughout the life of FL/BA collaboration agreements when MRL is required. Help develop the Microelectronics product line science to development to production transitions. Work with all resources available to establish, in some cases, the very first assembly flow process capable of providing yield and manufacturing capability indices on integrated chip technologies. Identify critical assembly step gaps between business area's capabilities and FL prototypes' capabilities, providing valuable data for BA planning of engineering/manufacturing development (EMD) programs, as well as factory capabilities and capital plans. Develop producibility roadmaps for Operations, including recommended external alternatives, with 2-5-year horizon for leading technologies in research. Support future Fast Labs capture activities where technology producibility tasks are or will be needed while working with FL Operations Director, Chief Technology Officer, Product Line Directors, and Technical Area Leaders to discover funding mechanisms to support current producibility maturation in Research, in cases where existing program funding is void of this need. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, materials, or related field
15+ years' experience with new product introduction, technology transition to production, producibility studies, design for manufacturing and assembly, or similar
Strong independent work ethic, with comfort working outside formal reporting to get results.
Familiarity with Department of Defense technology and production maturation assessments, or similar Commercialization strategies, for electro-opto-mechanical hardware-based products
Collaborative team-building experience, with ability to assimilate into many different teams' environments while working independently to influence and drive transition success.
Managing risks so as able to make leaps.
Be able to effectively communicate both verbal and written across a vast audience including executive leadership Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferences
Demonstrated advocacy and use of APQP / AS9145 methods as implemented and executed from early research stage activities
Able to achieve Top Secret clearance Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
