Overview
The Engineer, Process & Quality is responsible for supporting the Company's battery charger manufacturing operations to include process development and implementation of engineering initiatives to meet the Company's operations, quality, and new product development objectives. This position provides technical support to all plant personnel as required while maintaining incoming, in process, and outgoing quality. Interprets quality standards, conducts capability and time studies, troubleshoots quality problems, and provides prompt corrective actions to rectify quality issues. Lead and drive lean manufacturing techniques to improve the manufacturing flow and reduce workflow wastes.

The Engineer, Process & Quality is responsible for supporting the Company's battery charger manufacturing operations to include process development and implementation of engineering initiatives to meet the Company's operations, quality, and new product development objectives. This position provides technical support to all plant personnel as required while maintaining incoming, in process, and outgoing quality. Interprets quality standards, conducts capability and time studies, troubleshoots quality problems, and provides prompt corrective actions to rectify quality issues. Lead and drive lean manufacturing techniques to improve the manufacturing flow and reduce workflow wastes.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct MSA's on all testing procedures. Communicate results and work with other facilities to make appropriate corrections until MSA's are passed.
- Verify that proper testing techniques are following external regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for warranty and customer returns being evaluated, documented, and proper corrective action forms are filled out and submitted on time.
- Responsible for the coordination and completion of PPAP and MFF documents through the plant process.
- Participation in the APQP process of new product and process development.
- Revisions to Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and current testing techniques.
- Participation in PFMEA reviews and development of new testing requirements.
- Manage all customer complaints and work with operations to respond and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Provide day to day quality and technical support to all manufacturing disciplines and quality assurance in the form of quality plans, procedures, and engineering support.
- Evaluate employee workmanship, production processes, rework procedures, and measurement equipment to ensure they are under control and capable of producing a consistent quality product.
- Conduct time studies to identify bottlenecks and provide actions to alleviate identified issues.
- Analyze non-conforming product and internal failure (scrap/rework) cost to develop an action plan report capable of reducing costs.
- Coordinate usage of statistical process control to ensure SPC procedures are achieving the desired effect in improving product quality and reducing manufacturing cost.
- Drive lean manufacturing techniques for improvements to the manufacturing process
- Identify new methods, opportunities and equipment that will result in improved productivity, reduced costs, and improved efficiency.
- SME for the entire manufacturing process and participates in troubleshooting of equipment. Leads operations in the selection of new equipment.
- Provides training on processes, equipment, and inspection/test methods as required
- Develop and upgrade processes, and standardization for the plant.
- Ensure quality and safety are incorporated into the manufacturing process.
- Maintain and update plant KPl's.
- Identify and share best practices across Stryten facilities.
- Work with Business Unit leadership acting as a SME to define current situations, and asses gaps in processes capabilities.

Qualifications
Education, Experience, Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related discipline required
- 1-3 years related experience in a previous quality or lean role in a manufacturing setting and experience with QMS, PFMEA, SPC, MSA and 7QC knowledge.
- A working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodology is highly preferred
- Certified quality engineer preferred
- Experience designing parts, assemblies for manufacturing. SolidWorks preferred
Competencies, Skills, Knowledge
- Capable of providing independent leadership in the technical aspects of the manufacturing process
- Strong project management skills required
- MS Office expertise preferred. Data analytics experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting as necessary. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes, etc., as outlined in established policy. Occasional lifting.

- Office, clean production floor and warehouse which are all air conditioned.
