As part of our team, you'll discover limitless opportunities to make meaningful contributions while advancing professionally. You'll work with diverse and talented group of individuals committed to making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work.
This position is with the NV5 Clean Energy group. Clean Energy is an energy planning, project management, and design group providing owner's representative services to public agencies and private organizations focused on renewable energy, clean transportation, and decarbonization. We work with all clean energy and transportation technologies, with an emphasis on solar photovoltaic, battery storage, battery electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, fuel cells, and microgrids. Clean Energy's projects encompass energy master planning, mid-to-large scale behind-the-meter generation, storage and microgrid projects, distributed generation front-of-meter projects, and fleet transition in the clean transportation space. Historically, our work has primarily been in the western US, however we have a growing portfolio of projects across the US.
We are seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Energy Project Manager, with client-facing experience developing and managing renewable energy and/or clean transportation projects. Battery energy storage, microgrid, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) and/or front-of-the-meter project development experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be managing projects and helping to grow our services, with primary responsibility for the planning and procurement phases of projects, including feasibility studies, financial analysis, RFP development, proposal evaluation, and contracting. This candidate may also support projects where we provide design and engineering services and may manage multiple design groups to meet client and project deadlines.
This position may be remote or located out of NV5's San Rafael office.
Responsibilities:
Serve as project manager to develop scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful project delivery for a variety of renewable energy and clean transportation projects during the feasibility, procurement, and design phases.
Engage with clients as the primary contact for the NV5 project team. Convey overall project status to clients by means of oral discussions, presentations, and project reports.
Prepare and review work products, including feasibility studies, financial models, RFPs, proposal reviews, contracts, design drawings, and performance reviews.
Support internal NV5 project controls and performance, such as fees and proposals, staffing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and client satisfaction.
Responsible for the effective management of your own time and effort.
Manage internal and external project teams including planners, contractors, vendors, engineers, and consultants.
Occasional travel within the United States to attend client and NV5/Clean Energy meetings.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience
A minimum of five years project management experience.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field such as engineering, project management, or a related STEM degree.
Strong coordination skills working with consultants, contractors, and client staff.
Knowledge of energy project design and implementation of clean energy technologies, such as EV/EVSE, solar PV, battery storage, and microgrids.
Ability to track and complete project work under accelerated schedules.
Record of successfully managing multiple complex energy projects on time and budget.
Strong coordination skills working with construction managers, design professionals, contractors, and client staff.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Project).
Strong written/verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience developing and conveying reports to public or private entities.
Experience with Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms, either working with or managing as owner's representative.
