Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Information Technology Jr. Technician for the USV Operations and Sustainment program supporting Astrion Navy Division.
JOB DETAILS
LOCATION: San Diego, California
JOB STATUS: Full-Time
TRAVEL: Some travel may be required, embarked at sea overnight
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
CITIZENSHIP: Current U.S. Citizenship Required.
CERTIFICATIONS: Prefer Sys Admin certification or similar experience.
EDUCATION: BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar field. Will accept significant experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Network technician, LINUX experience is required
Experience administering, operating, and maintaining computer network.
Experience with running and deploying virtual machines
2 years' experience with LINUX
Ability to troubleshoot networking issues in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to perform network engineering duties at-sea
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Experience with C++ and PYTHON
Experience with shipboard applications of computer networks
Formal LINUX network Systems Administrator certification
Cyber security certification
Will consider candidates with significant experience in lieu of B.S. degree
RESPONSIBILITIES
Configure and update LINUX-based networks.
Install, update and deploy software on LINUX-based systems.
Troubleshoot and repair network problems.
Assist with at-sea testing of networks on military vessels.
Administer user accounts.
SALARY RANGE: Estimated $65,000 - $80,000 USD annually
depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications
