SUMMARY

Automate Calibration & Preventative Maintenance reports / Perform Calibrations / Design a fail safe system for EV chambers to protect specimens from thermal event / Automate EV chambers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create macros or other ways to automate Cal & PM reports from existing data and systems.
  • Training & performing calibrations of liquid flow, air flow, temperature, frequency, & duty cycle.
  • Design a fail safe system for EV chambers - research the hardware and software for application, program the software, test out the system for functionality, reliability, & ability to alert lab.
  • Program and automate F4T or other EV chamber controllers. Enhance network connection.
  • Fabricate harnesses or other items in order to implement automation or install hardware.
  • Learn Gantner data acquisition (DAQ) set-up and configuring for test stands/EV chambers.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be enrolled in a 4-year accredited University
    • Major: Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics
    • Class Standing: Sophomore or Junior
  • Skills: Completed coursework in basic electrical classes with some labs, familiarity with PLCs and programming them, computers, communication, & soldering experience
  • Prior internship experience is a plus
  • knowledge or experience with electrical tools & meters, PLCs, instrumentation, data acquisition, hand tools, and/or soldering is a plus
  • Overall GPA must be a 3.0 or higher
