Purpose/ Summary
The Senior QMS Engineer assures that the facility is meeting the regulatory requirements for the manufacture of the required hardware. Perform internal audits (1st party) for Quality Management System (QMS) and Manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance to customer/industry/regulatory requirements.
Manage the Quality systems with preference to aerospace AS9100.

Minimum 5 years aerospace experience in quality preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
College degree in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
5 years of relevant experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Internal or Lead Auditor certification and Certified Quality Auditor certification or able to attain within 1 year of hiring
Able to read, write, and speak in standard English
Legally authorized to work in applicable country
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree or equivalent in mechanical or industrial engineering or related field
7 years relevant experience
Working knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing techniques

- Lead internal audits with preference for Lead Auditor certification
- Maintains the company Quality Manual and Procedures
- Control and coordinate inspection and test activities both in-house and at suppliers when needed
- Assessment of suppliers
- Control and review of supplier documentation according to company requirements
- Control of all quality department related records
- Assist with conducting quality audits, identifying, documenting, and providing solutions for non-conformances (NCR s), Corrective Actions (CAR s) & Preventive Actions (PAR s)
- Perform internal audits (1st party) for Quality Management System (QMS) and Manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance to customer/industry/regulatory requirements
- Document non-compliances, and work with Engineers/Manufacturing Leadership to ensure completion/closure of actions
- Conduct audit follow-up activities, including supporting Cause/Corrective Action process and communications via customer/3rd party portals
- Review and organize training plans design and develop training programs such as Operator
- Certification Programs
- Prepare appropriate training methods per case including simulations mentoring on the job
- Training professional development classes
- Review and analyze instructional effectiveness and prepare reports determining the impact of training on employee skills
- Performs external and internal quality assurance audits to ISO 9001: 2000, ISO17025, AS9100, NADCAP and other applicable Standards to ensure compliance to corporate and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain document revision and control procedures
- Responsible for site documentation and revision control process and training
- Ensure effective corrective action closure by working with applicable personnel to ensure comprehensive development and execution of action(s) with regards to any nonconformities cited during audits
- Participation in continuous improvement activity and process re-engineering projects in support of process Improvement initiatives
- Facilitate training to support the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvements in operations and procedures
- Implements continuous improvement initiatives within the organization
