Job Description: VAXCOM is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with specialized expertise in counter unmanned aerial systems (cUAS); this position will be in Northern Virginia with some OCONUS TDY travel required. This role demands extensive expertise in integrating and evaluating sensor technologies, including long-range cameras and radar systems, both for ground and air surveillances. The SME will drive the development and implementation of complex technical systems, with a focus on UAS, cUAS and RCIED platforms. The ideal candidate will also have significant experience in installation, testing, and maintenance in both domestic and overseas environments, including hostile/austere settings. Roles and Responsibilities: Lead the integration and evaluation of long-range camera systems and ground/air surveillance radar systems within the program. Drive the requirements development process for complex systems, ensuring that design and integration meet operational needs and technical specifications. Develop and implement system designs and integration strategies for both fixed site and mobile UAS and RCIED platforms. Manage the installation, testing and maintenance of UAS and RCIED systems at both domestic and international facilities. Ensure effective use of fiber optics, ethernet and microwave systems for content delivery and control during installation and operation. Provide on-ground expertise in the installation, testing and maintenance of systems in domestic and overseas environments. Leverage military special operations experience to enhance operational strategies and system performance, drawing on deep knowledge of tactical and strategic considerations. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum five years of experience integrating long-range camera systems. Minimum five years of experience in the testing and evaluation of new technology, system design, and requirements development of complex technical systems.
Minimum five years' experience with fiber optics, ethernet, and microwave systems for content delivery and control. Minimum three years' experience in the development of Human-machine interface (HMI) requirements for system control and situational awareness display(s).
Minimum five years' experience in technical electronics testing and maintenance utilizing spectrum analyzers, signal generators, voltage meters, and network and cable continuity and verification test equipment.
Minimum five years' experience in briefing preparation, presentation, and delivery of verbal and visual reports to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Active TS/SCI with polygraph required. Desired Qualifications: Extensive experience with requirements development, system design, integration and evaluation of long-range camera systems and ground and air surveillance systems.
Proven track record in the installation, testing and maintenance of both fixed site and mobile UAS and RCIED platforms. Hands-on experience with the installation of systems using fiber optics, ethernet and microwave systems for content delivery and control at domestic and international locations.
Service experience in foreign field operations. Experience supporting Special Operations military units and/or special activities partners.
