Job Title: Senior Accounting Manager Department: Finance and Accounting Location: 320 Congress Street, 1st Floor Boston MA 02210 Autonodyne is a Boston-based software company working to provide additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles in land, sea, and air domains. Our technology stack applies mainly to the defense sector, but we view most of our work as dual use for commercial applications. The Senior Accounting Manager is a vital component of Autonodyne through leading activities designed to connect finance with other departments including operations, sales, service, and research and development. Routine tasks include overseeing and participating in the full range of month-end close functions for Autonodyne and related entities, as well as the accounting, reporting, and internal controls Secondary responsibilities include oversight and management of annual audits, tax preparations, and corporate account reconciliations. Responsibilities: Demonstrating recognized expertise in month-end close functions including but not limited to producing P/Ls, balance sheet, and cash flow statements Analyzing, recommending, and implementing improvements in policies, procedures, and internal controls
Overseeing and assisting with the preparation of journal entries for month-end close for Autonodyne and related entities
Overseeing and assisting with processing, reconciling, and analyzing manufacturing costs including the presentation of periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual costs
Preparing and presenting G&A, fringe, and overhead rate calculations
Leading the preparation of financial statements as part of the monthly close process
Reconciliating balance sheet accounts ensuring transactions are reasonable and in compliance with GAAP
Counseling management in the interpretation of data and its implications
Preparing contract liability schedules to ensure compliance with current revenue recognition standards
Maintaining monthly fixed asset schedules including the calculation and the record of depreciation expense
Participating and managing Autonodyne's internal resources for financial audits
Functioning as back-up for other Finance and Accounting functions during busy periods or absences.
Qualifications: Strong knowledge and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other accounting standards
Knowledge of DFARS Compliance: Demonstrated understanding of DFARS regulations, including cost principles, indirect rate structures, and audit requirements specific to government contracting.
Experience with DFARS Clauses: Practical experience in applying DFARS clauses in financial practices, including the ability to manage and review compliance with DFARS cost accounting standards (CAS) and related guidelines.
Contract Compliance and Reporting: Ability to ensure that financial reports, including indirect cost rate proposals and contract cost submissions, are prepared in compliance with DFARS requirements.
Government Contracting Experience: Proven experience working with DoD contracts, including familiarity with the specific accounting and reporting requirements that apply to government contractors.
Audit Readiness: Experience preparing for and managing audits related to DFARS compliance, including liaising with government auditors and addressing audit findings effectively.
Knowledge and ability to account for and explain cost of goods sold
Highly proficient with Excel
Highly proficient with accounting and financial software
Ability and willingness to mentor others and work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; comprehensive experience will be considered in lieu of degree
Demonstratable experience, with all the following:
Month-end close functions (P/Ls, balance sheet statements, cash flow statements)
Accounting and financial software
Cost accounting
Analyzing internal controls and implementing recommendations for change.
Other Desirable Experience: Prior experience leading and developing individuals
Master's degree in business administration, or a related field
Government (principally DoD) contract experience and subject matter expertise
Certified Public Accountant designation
Travel: This position has the potential to travel to customer and non-customer sites principally in North America (up to 40%), but global travel is also possible. Other Criteria: Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile - relocation to Boston area part of compensation package, if necessary US Citizenship required. Security clearance (active or previous) or the ability to be granted one desired.
