JOB TITLE: PROJECT MANAGER II DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT PRIMARY FUNCTION You will join our cross-functional team in ensuring assigned projects are accomplished to the statement of work (SOW) and within the timeline and budget. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Project Control Ensures project meets internal and client expectations with respect to quality, budget, delivery timelines and strategy.
When project control is in jeopardy, create contingency plans with appropriate input from key team members and implement a revised project schedule, scope, or budget in a timely manner. Project Planning Explains implications of changes to project scope and/or objectives to the client and to the project team.
Creates or participates in the creation of project documentation.
Establishes and maintains a usable and well-communicated schedule for all phases of a project. Client Management Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, organization, and objectives.
Manages day-to-day client interaction.
Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.
Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions Internal Project Reporting and Administration Leads or assists with the preparation of estimating new jobs to obtain new business.
Maintains project quality, client and team satisfaction and project success metrics during regularly scheduled meetings.
Tracks and reports weekly on percent complete, budget, schedule slippage, project effort and duration to complete and other key project metrics. Weekly report is to be given at staff meetings. When necessary, work with external contractors in addition to internal resources.
Defines skill sets (competencies) required for the project based on project specifications and requirements. Project Accounting and Finance Understands basic revenue models, profit and loss, cost-to-complete projections and make decisions accordingly.
Understands pricing model and billing procedures.
Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
Manages project budget and provides a completed project total cost summary for each project.
Performs other duties as are necessary and/or required. Project Quality Management Creates initial work orders for applicable departments to start projects according to the SOW.
Maintains a log per project which lists finalized work orders from all necessary departments. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Knowledge and experience of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEVEL II B.S. + 6 years of demonstrated experience in Program Management may be considered. Degree should be focused on Business, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or other related fields. An A.S. + 8 of relevant Program management may be considered or 10 years of related Program/project Management experience in lieu of education Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Demonstrated expertise in Department of Defense, US, and other military branches Experience working with military and commercial UAS
Proven ability to solve problems creatively
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
Excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
