Requirements and skills Focus: BPM is business-outcome-oriented, ensuring the project aligns with business goals and delivers value. Stakeholders: BPM deals more with business stakeholders in the Office of Sustainability & Environment. Deliverables: BPM focuses on business process changes, business outcomes, and ensuring the project meets business needs. Responsibilities: 1. Project Alignment with Business Goals: o Ensure the project supports business objectives and delivers value. o Understand the strategic importance of the project and how it fits into the OSE goals. o Account for in-flight Energy Benchmarking & Reporting (EBR) and Building Emissions Performance Standard (BEPS) programs to ensure an integrated project scheduled is managed to aligned dependencies and timelines. 2. Requirements Gathering and Scope Management: o Support IT BA and BBA, work with business units to ensure business requirements are gathered and translated into project objective. o Define project scope from a business perspective and ensure alignment with business needs. 3. Change Management: o Oversee the change management process within the business, including training and transitioning the organization to new processes or systems. o Ensure end-user adoption and minimize resistance to change. 4. Business Process Improvement: o Focus on improving business processes through the implementation of new systems and changes. o Coordinate with the IT PM, OSE, and the SaaS provider to oversee business-side UAT 5. Communication: o Develop, manage, and track progress against the project schedule o Primary communicator between the business and IT Project manager and project team. o Ensure that all business-side stakeholders are regularly updated on project progress and risks. o Ensure project management deliverables (except deliverables that solely exist to comply with ITD Stage Gates) are created and maintained. This includes a detailed project schedule, communication plans, project RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies), change log; meeting minutes; project status reports o Collaborate with project sponsors, steering committee, teams, business SMEs, City s vendors, IT teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure project progresses as planned. o Coordinate activities within the project team; escalates issues as necessary Business Manager / Business Project Manager
