Currently seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer / Specialist to join a growing Energy Solutions firm a large Controls Integration project in the Wilmington/Jacksonville, North Carolina area.

Relocation Assistance Provided! -On-site opportunity-

Documented certifications and experience with the Johnson Controls Metasys and Facility Explorer product lines is a must.

Job Summary: As the Sr. Controls Engineer / Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of complete building control systems to meet the intent of the project requirements. This role requires a strong technical background in HVAC systems, controls programming, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the programming and configuration of HVAC control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand HVAC system requirements and develop
  • control strategies.
  • Design and program HVAC control systems using industry-standard programming languages (e.g., BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus).
  • Configure and integrate sensors, actuators, and other components into the control systems.
  • Oversee the programming and configuration of HVAC control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or deviations from project plans.
  • Collaborate with contractors and technicians during installation, commissioning, and startup of HVAC control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control system programming and configuration.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, contractors, and customers.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in HVAC controls.
  • Document project specifications, programming code, and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to optimize HVAC system performance and energy efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards in control system design and programming.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing technical expertise and recommendations.

Requirements:
  • 5-10+ years experience in HVAC controls programming and project management
  • Must have certifications and demonstrated experience in the Johnson Controls Facility Explorer (Niagara 4)/CCT/Metasys platforms.
  • Experience with control system software, such as Niagara, Tridium, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls protocols (BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus), and programming languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python).
  • Must be able to obtain DOD Security Clearance
