Simeon Global Consulting is seeking a GIS Analyst to support the development, implementation, and management of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects and solutions. This role involves performing spatial data analysis, cartography, and database management using GIS software to assist decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. The GIS Analyst will work closely with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and project success while gaining valuable experience in geospatial technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection & Analysis: Assist in managing spatial databases and conducting spatial analyses. Support the creation of maps, reports, and visualizations for various projects.
Support for GIS Projects: Work on defined GIS project tasks under the guidance of senior staff, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Software Utilization: Use GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial data management, analysis, and cartographic output.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to present GIS findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Quality Control: Help ensure GIS products meet industry standards and organizational policies, assisting with data validation and quality control.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
0-2 years of GIS analysis experience.
Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data management.
Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Python, SQL) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with GIS web development and custom applications.
Knowledge of remote sensing and advanced GIS techniques.
Internship or academic experience in GIS-related projects.
Additional Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Must reside in the state of Florida.
Must pass a background check upon offer of employment.
Must be willing and able to travel to various work sites as needed.
Must be willing and able to work long hours and adapt to changing environments.
