To learn more about Mission Technologies, click here for a short video: Job Description HII is partnering in a critical training initiative within the United States Space Force (USSF) aimed at preparing space units for advanced tactical operations within a contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environment. This exercise represents a major milestone in the evolution of space as a distinct warfighting domain, reflecting a shift toward recognizing the strategic importance of space for national defense and international security. As the Operations Research Analyst 5, you will serve as the Lead Analyst to create and conduct studies and analyses relevant to space superiority and multi-domain operations, oversee the development of tactics, techniques, and procedures to advance the creation of tools supporting Space Domain Awareness and Space Control. Your daily activity involves gathering data to run experimental simulations while using analytics to define problem sets. In addition, you will be responsible for light-weight development and translating trusted government agents needs to a definable problem set for software engineers. This job will be located at Kirtland AFB in a SCIF. The focus of this work is assessing problems and solutions in space and multi-domain operations. Job functions include leading analysts in and personally doing the following: Use knowledge of US/Allied/adversary/commercial/civil space asset capabilities and CONOPS to do the following: Essential Job Responsibilities Create detailed assessment plans of US space enterprise and adversary's space enterprise to identify capability gaps and recommended mitigation activities, and execute the assessment plan; Assess the impact of doctrine, new technologies and or new CONOPS on the effectiveness of the US or adversary space enterprises;
Analyze and provide recommendations on issues dealing with disciplines such as military command control and communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Rules of Engagement, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises;
Coordinate with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives;
Analyze the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers or simulated wartime operations undertaken to maintain the capabilities of a force; Analyze, compare, and evaluate the relative merits of program designs and alternatives; Apply emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), or Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), to system design and development; Assess the impact of programmatic and technical options on stated user requirements and doctrine; and Prepare reports and brief summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems.
Develop data mining tools and retrieve data from data repositories that are relevant to space domain awareness. Use advanced AI/ML techniques to perform analyses on the data, assess the situation, and develop advanced COAs to either mitigate adverse situations or take advantage of the situation.
Work with enterprise operational, acquisition, and RDT&E communities to understand and articulate problems. Lead team to frame problems and perform analysis in advanced simulation environments such as AFSIM.
Manage daily workflow in GitLab for team of engineers.
Collaborate with different organizations and teams associated with project.
Minimum Qualifications Extensive knowledge of US DoD and IC space enterprise
15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field (stem degree preferred); 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Professional Doctorate in related field; Experience in analyzing DoD space control operations.
Experience using statistical analysis tools that enable identification of key parameters, and key values of key parameters (e.g., R, Dakota, Galaxy).
Experience in multi-domain operations.
Competent in Python U.S. Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance
Preferred Requirements Strong skills in problem solving.
Strong skills in strategic and analytic thinking. Able to work in team environment. Knowledge in Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies, practices, and culture
Strong knowledge of version control systems like GitLab, along with the ability to maintain/operate Gitlab in the cloud or on premises.
Active U.S. Secret Clearance (Preferred).
