To learn more about Mission Technologies, click here for a short video: Who We Are We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Designer 2 to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing components or portions of systems and modifying existing designs to enhance or improve products. Your work will support our mission by developing new products and optimizing operations. What You Will Do Designs components or portions of electrical systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA.
Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
What You Must Have Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years related experience.
Candidate must have electrical or electronics experience and or training
Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
Candidate must have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Candidate must have ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Candidate must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance Bonus Points For Having! Experience with shipboard systems and operations
Have proficiency in AutoCAD
Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Physical Requirements Ability to work in shipboard environment. Able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, shipboard, shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required. May involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels, riding ships at sea for extended periods. May require the ability to work while wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
