Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Planning Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the daily tactical planning processes to ensure efficient operations and alignment with site goals. You will report to the Planning Manager and lead a team of planners and expeditors to ensure weekly revenue goals are achieved. You will work closely with internal departments such as manufacturing, procurement, materials, engineering, quality, and logistics to ensure work orders stay on plan.
Responsibilities:

Supervise and mentor a team of planners, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
Develop, implement, and refine planning processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Conduct regular meetings with team members to review performance, track work orders, and identify aeras where you can help remove road-blocks.
Monitor progress of team's work orders to ensure schedules are being met
Confers with department management to determine the status of assigned projects
Expedites operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
When necessary, informs Purchasing to expedite specific material in order to meet delivery commitments
Ensures system integrity through maintenance of production schedule and work orders
Monitors ERP, shortage lists, and related indicators to determine 100% material availability and to ensure 100% on-time customer delivery
Attends cross-functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production processes
Ensure that workflows, processes and products comply with safety regulations
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities of 3 - 5 planners and 3 - 5 floor expeditors. This position also serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department/company.
Qualifications:
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls
Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. may be required
Experience and Education:
High School Diploma/GED required
Bachelor's Degree preferred
7 - 10 years of experience in planning and/or production control
1 - 3 years of experience in supervising a team of 5 - 10
Experience utilizing an ERP/MRP system
Good investigative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to think logically and methodically
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Decision-making ability coupled with the ability to work independently and proactively
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Understanding of standard manufacturing and safety compliance processes
Experience with Marine Class societies preferred
