Requisition Number: 18409 Required Travel: 11 - 25% Employment Type: Full Time/Salaried/Exempt Hours Per Week: 40.00 Security Clearance: Secret Level of Experience: Senior Job Description Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies Division (HII-MTD) is seeking a qualified candidate for Test Engineer, Radar Systems. The Test Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: test, installation, operation, maintenance and sustainability. Properly employs test assets into customer-driven test objectives. Performs functional analysis and timeline analysis. The engineer will present a deep understanding of testing philosophies and methodologies within an agile test environment. Minimum Qualifications 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field.
Must be a self-starter, have the ability to consistently deliver at a high level with minimum supervision and maintain continuous communications with peers and upper management personnel
Ability to negotiate through conflicting demands for resources and manage time to drive overall organizational success
Ability to setup and support HITL test equipment, along with test customer setup including interfacing with data acquisition hardware / instrumentation
Develop requirement for HITL build-up and customer needs
Familiar with RF and electronic test equipment
Good analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Must be able and willing to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
Must be able to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs
Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time. Deployment times will vary and typically last between two and three weeks.
Minimum Secret clearance required to start
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/ enhanced security checks
Preferred Requirements Tasking includes RF chain analysis and radar system performance analysis, as well as all aspects of test execution.
Hands-on test, integration, and verification support across lab facilities requiring skills in algorithms, software, hardware, and networking.
Support technical publications in developing for customer releases test planning, test procedures, and test reports.
Support technical and functional leadership through the identification of risk.
Physical Requirements Office or industrial environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
