Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) seeks an Unmanned Systems Technologies SME to advise and support the leadership of the DoD Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (USD(R&E in their mission to identify, explore, and ensure the development, integration, and funding of new technology and capabilities to maintain U.S. technological superiority. On-site work with our government clients in Alexandria, VA is anticipated. Telework options are available within the Washington, DC area. Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate international S&T collaboration initiatives critical to the C-sUAS of detection, tracking, identification, and mitigation technologies spectrum.
• Collaborate on S&T technologies and provide quarterly updates to the USD(R&E) and counterparts.
• Lead the C-UAS Working Group to enable the collaboration on a joint counter-swarming capability. Exploration will include development of a common taxonomy, tabletop learning event, simulation experiment, and demonstrations.
• Plan and execute a technology collaboration event focused on integration of electro-optical/infrared detection devices to enhance DTI. • Conduct analytical studies and technology explorations in support of the Joint Staff and Combatant Commanders to identify new and innovative passive approaches to enhance survivability. Identify promising S&T technologies to rapidly transition to a prototype capability.
• Expand current S&T support efforts to include the countering of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV), Unmanned Underwater Vessels (UUV), and Unmanned Ground Systems (UGS). Provide R&E support of the muti-domain unmanned systems portfolio during portfolio management reviews.
• Support the development of update of the DoD's C-UAS strategy. Assist with the development of an implementation plan to enable the DoD to keep pace with technology development from the commercial sector. QUALIFICATIONS: Clearance: Active DoD TOP SECRET required. TS/SCI preferred. Education: Master's Degree or higher in a recognized engineering, scientific and/or technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required; PhD preferred. Highly specialized experience may be substituted in lieu of specific educational requirements. Required Skills/Experience: • Fifteen (15) years' recent and relevant experience providing strategic technical oversight of projects; demonstrated progressive responsibility in technical project management positions. • Demonstrated success in the conception and execution of highly complex and technical detailed projects with minimal guidance from the client and often within short deadlines.
• Outstanding communication, written and oral; above average skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
