R- Description Leidos Defense Systems is actively hiring for a Software Engineer to join our team in Lawton, OK to support a variety of Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS). As a member of a small development team Lawton, you will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to multiple components for a rapidly evolving C-UAS. From low-level backend algorithm optimization to frontend UI/UX design, and all the layers in between, you will be able to exercise and grow your technical skillset under the guidance of our staff engineers. Become a part of a team where you'll know that the system that you help develop and support are keeping deployed warfighters safe on the battlefield as well as aiding in the defense of our nation from foreign adversaries. Primary Responsibilities This position involves working collaboratively with a local and remote software team that includes product owner, technical leadership, and other engineers. Software is developed in an innovative, technology-driven self-disciplined team environment using the Agile Scrum framework within a tailored CMMI-based software process. Perform integration activities to connect with 3rd party software APIs. Analyze, diagnose, and resolve software bugs utilizing approved procedures following software best practices. Work tasks from implementation through test and deployment during each Agile Sprint period. Basic Qualifications Possess a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an ABET Accredited University, or an engineering degree and applicable experience in software development. Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must have 2+ years of prior relevant experience in software engineering. Must demonstrate strong competency in software development in C++ or C# and WPF. Must be able to debug, troubleshoot, and isolate software issues. Must have a solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns. Must have a strong sense of ownership and drive in digging into complex problems. Candidate is expected to participate in and contribute to software design and code reviews. Candidate must be a resident of Lawton, OK or be willing to relocate to the Lawton, OK area. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of battle management systems is desirable. Experience working with CI/CD platforms such as Gitlab CI. Experience with VCS such as Git, Mercurial, or SVN. Experience in supporting flight test. Experience with understanding of UAS architectures and subsystems. Experience in open architecture. Original Posting Date: 2024-08-16
