Responsibilities Peraton has an opening for an experienced Journeyman Systems Engineer (Space Systems). Become part of our team where we will partner with our client and the United States Space Force (USSF) to be the lead systems integrator for delivering the next generation of Missile Warning (MW), Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (TISR), and Environmental Monitoring (EM) capabilities. We will assist the US Space Force (USSF) in developing, deploying, and integrating space and ground remote sensing systems as part of the Space Sensing (SN) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in El Segundo, CA. The Journeyman Systems Engineer (Space Systems) requires expertise in a variety of tool environments such as Microsoft Office Suite, Requirements, Architecture Management, Agile, DevSecOps, JIRA, and other leading industry product lines. The qualified candidate requires an understanding of Space Systems to integrate big picture system of system thinking with Space Segment, Ground Segment and User segments architectures. The position requires a collaborative approach to engineering and integration by using agile and traditional system engineering methods to manage multiple activities, review and capture data sources across the program office all with intent to explain information and findings in a useful manner that enables communications and decisions by stakeholders. Together, the SN SEI goal is to develop a team that is innovative, professional, and eager to apply their expertise to support the mission that ultimately provides critical information from cutting edge systems to our warfighters to deter and defeat our enemies in battle. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required The Journeyman Systems Engineer (Space Systems). will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
Develop, document, execute and update portfolio and program system integration processes and products.
Recommend test strategies for Satellite systems
Conduct reviews of system test plans.
Incorporate Government-approved GFP/GFE/GFI and Giver/Receiver requirements into the Government Integrated Schedules.
Identify and recommend system integration technical and programmatic details for incorporation into relevant program documentation as required, such as PWSs, Statements of Work (SOWs), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
Plan, manage, and execute continuous ground integration activities over the life of the contract to include development of entry/exit criteria for each step of ground integration flow to ensure that the development/integration/test activities of each step effectively support the delivery of an integrated ground system.
Support Government oversight of prime contractor development of the initial product baseline including establishing the detailed designs for the system's components, specifying the architecture, functions and capabilities of the system's elements and components, defining the logical, physical, and human interfaces for the components and between system components, establishing and maintaining design artifacts that describe the conditions, operating modes, and operating states specific to the components of the architecture, and maintaining bi-directional requirements traceability. Qualifications Required Qualifications: BS/BA degree and 2 years experience, AS degree and 4 years experience; in lieu of degree, 6 years of relative experience is allowable. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills Understanding of satellite systems and architectures Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to have an active Top Secret security clearance. Desired Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance.
INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP)Experience with Space Weather Satellite systems. 3+ years' experience with MS Project in a technical field
Previous experience with various software tools
Experience with USSF customer and Missile Warning, Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance and Environmental Monitoring programs
Experience in DoD acquisition (or similar) and program management processes Agile

Target Salary Range $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
