Key Responsibilities: Solves complex technical problems with innovative solutions.
Designs, develops, evaluates, and modifies end-to-end systems throughout their life cycle.
Develops quantifiable requirements from customer descriptions, system planning, and logistics.
Ensures compliance with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
Translates high-level product strategies into detailed system requirements.
Collaborates with other engineering disciplines to create lower-level implementation requirements.
Establishes and coordinates development standards, practices, and procedures.
Designs interfaces and integrates system elements for overall functionality.
Assesses system performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
Acts as a customer liaison to support business development and shape requirements.
Participates in conceptual design and documentation processes.
Engages in design reviews to ensure traceability of requirements and compliance.
Develops system-level requirements verification and customer acceptance test procedures.
Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures alignment with contractual requirements.
Participates in the testing process to validate requirements. Collaborate with development contractors to convey requirements and create delivery plans.
Coordinate with Operations to test and deliver capabilities.
Become familiar with system architectures and provide expert advice to government clients.
Participate in assembly, installations, testing, and occasional travel.
Ensure requirements capture and management to maintain the system baseline.
Assist with contract-related activities, including drafting Statements of Work, reviewing proposals, and assessing contractor performance.
Drives work products to closure.

Qualifications Required: Technical BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree and 8-10 years of experience, MS with 6-8 years of experience, a PhD with 3-5 years of experience (4 years of relevant experience in an Electro-Optical (EO) / Infrared (IR) space development/acquisition program can be substituted).
The ability to work well within a team of engineers
Familiarity with industry space-based remote sensing capabilities
Demonstrates success in working with government customers.
Professional oral and written communication skills.

Desired: 5 years of experience with Commercial/Government EO/IR satellite, hardware/software, or satellite based field set hardware/software.

Experience with thermal control and design.
Experience with customer design reviews.
