As a Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to design and test algorithms, flight software, related hardware, design tools, simulations, and more for various aerospace vehicles. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll explore complex GN&C algorithms and systems to assess performance of vehicle flight qualities and capabilities. Your technical duties involve the design, development, evaluation, and test of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle. Access to walking and biking trails Responsibilities: Develop Simulink models for air vehicle flight controls development and flight simulation.
Inner and outer loop control law development creating control algorithms for an air vehicle.
Generate reports detailing flight simulation results. Must-haves: Bachelor's of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
Advanced experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation
Exposure to vehicle stability principles and control system design and analysis
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required Preferred: Experience using MATLAB/Simulink to perform linear and nonlinear aircraft simulation analysis
Experience designing flight control laws for unmanned aircraft
Knowledge of MIL-STD-1797B: Flying Qualities of Piloted Aircraft
Experience with overall flight control system development for aerospace vehicles, including knowledge of sensors suites, and aircraft actuation
Experience performing Hardware-in-the-Loop testing of integrated flight control systems
Experience supporting flight test of aircraft systems
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry Estimated Starting Salary Range: $143,487.14 - $197,294.82. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
