Job Title: Senior Specialist, Software Project Engineer Job Code: 13019 Job Location: Chantilly, Virginia Job Description: L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Lead Project Engineer to support the Space & Intel software products in development efforts. The Project Engineer will be responsible for leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in our growing space business area. Essential Functions: Responsible for full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a range of software development as well as integration efforts utilzing Agile Methodology and tools
Responsible for successfully leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area.
Develops, oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities.
Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
Understands how to develop a schedule using Earned Value (EV), and manage a project using the Earned Value Indicators.
Participate in small teams and perform a wide variety of tasks
Participate in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects and have regular contact with customers.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Experience in software development.
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVMS) and Microsoft Project.
Experience with project engineering and program execution, and managing multi-discipline programs across multiple locations.
Experience in hardware/software integration programs.
Experience managing projects with budgets of $30M+.
Experience with Technical Supplier Management, Risk and Opportunity Management.
Experience with managing Agile SW development programs including using Confluence.
Active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph
Preferred Additional Skills: Experience with Agile PLM.
Experience leading Government Contract development programs.
Experience in Government contract acquisition lifecycle a plus.
Experience with management of design to cost activities. Experience with program, pursuit and proposal activities.
