Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer- TEMPEST Job Code: 9789 Job Location: Salt Lake City, Utah Job Description: L3 Harris is seeking a Lead TEMPEST Engineer to join our Power Supply/Integrity Signals team supporting our Communication Systems Segment. Due to the nature and classified environment required to support the TEMPEST requirements and regulations this role will require a Secret Clearance. As an engineer in this role you can expect to be responsible for: Learning the NSA requirements regarding TEMPEST for encrypted equipment.
Support the Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP-II) in updating the the current test methods related to the new requirements.
Support the multiple programs and CTP-II by creating or updating TEMPEST Control Plans, Test Plan, Test Procedures, Test Reports, Critical Features Lists and other applicable documents.
Perform required pre-test setup, Detection System Sensitivity and calibration measurements prior to testing.
The engineer will peform engineering pre-tests and debug of all programs with encrypted devices that require TEMPEST testing.
Performing test activities to achieve TEMPEST compliance.
Participate in TEMPEST related system and sub-system troubleshooting efforts.
Asisting with the maintenance of the TEMPEST lab needs with equipment and test hardware ensuring the equipment is calibrated and ready for program tests.
A working knowledge of electromagnetic theory, radiated and conducted emissions, signal and power coupling effects, and susceptibility of systems.
Exposure to or experience with design techniques for wide-band, high-isolation performance, containment, source suppression and RF grounding.
Experience with common lab equipment, such as: Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, TEMPEST Receivers, Signal Generators, Test Antennas, EMI Chambers, etc. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
