Product/Mission Engineer Department: Product Engineering Location: 320 Congress Street, Floor 1 Boston, MA 02210 Autonodyne is a Boston-based software company working to provide additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles in land, sea, and air domains. Our technology stack applies mainly to the defense sector, but we view most of our work as dual use for commercial applications. We are a rapidly growing organization with over 50 people employed today. Our company culture balances delivering software solutions that make a difference with the relaxed office environment where dogs are welcomed. We are searching for a Product Engineer who is passionate about unmanned systems and is comfortable interfacing directly with end users. The ideal candidate is an engineer familiar with the defense sector who can speak well in front of customers and has relevant knowledge of unmanned systems and sensors. Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, and execute autonomy software field demonstrations and trainings. Interface directly with customers to understand and represent their needs. Guide teams of software developers in the preparation, planning, and management of contracted deliverables. Evaluate and verify new software functionality and vehicle integrations on your own, or alongside the flight test team. Create user stories with input from key stakeholders and end users. Write documentation, training material and user guides related to our customer-facing software. Monitor progress and performance while helping teams to make improvements. Plan and organize product testing, reviews, and demos. Guide developers to help them understand customer desires in a way that allows them to not only execute on their development but understand why they are developing new capabilities. Use Jira to track project processes and deliverables. Assist with Flight Test as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field. 1-5 years of experience in a technical role which required customer interaction. Industry or military experience in the autonomy software and/or unmanned systems field. Experience with GIT version-control software. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects and assignments. Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new domains, technologies, and priorities. Excellent time management and organization skills. Ability to obtain Part 107 Remote Pilot license. US Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science/programming, or related field. Experience with project management/tracking tools, such as Jira or Confluence. Knowledge of scrum and agile software processes. Experience with an object-oriented programming language, such as C#. Part 107 Remote Pilot license Active DoD Secret Clearance. Broad understanding of UAS systems on a technical and user level. Capable of working well independently with low supervision. Travel: This position has the potential to travel to customer and non-customer sites principally in North America (up to 40%), but global travel is also possible. Other Criteria: Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile - relocation to Boston area part of compensation package, if necessary US Citizenship required. Security clearance (active or previous) or the ability to be granted one desired.
