The CFT is a non-exempt position with responsibility for the daily operations and maintenance of mission critical facilities. Reporting to the Critical Facility Manager (CFM), the CFT will interact effectively with the customers to ensure that all work is performed to the highest quality and without impact to internal/external customers while utilizing safe work practices and following all critical facility work rules and safety procedures. The CFT will perform preventative maintenances, emergency/scheduled repairs, vendor management of sub-contractors working in the facilities and have the flexibility to work overtime as assigned or required to help ensure the 99.999% uptime of the critical facilities infrastructure. Critical Facilities Technician (CFT) Position Summary: The CFT is a non-exempt position with responsibility for the daily operations and maintenance of mission critical facilities. Reporting to the Critical Facility Manager (CFM), the CFT will interact effectively with the customers to ensure that all work is performed to the highest quality and without impact to internal/external customers while utilizing safe work practices and following all critical facility work rules and safety procedures. The CFT will perform preventative maintenances, emergency/scheduled repairs, vendor management of sub-contractors working in the facilities and have the flexibility to work overtime as assigned or required to help ensure the 99.999% uptime of the critical facilities infrastructure. Duties & Responsibilities: Perform "rounds and readings" (logging status of technical and other equipment), trending their results and searching for discrepancies or abnormalities, reporting as found.
Understand the function, purpose, nominal operating parameters, and how to operate/isolate: electrical and mechanical components, (UPS, generator, batteries, transfer switches, air conditioning/handling units, controls monitoring systems, and fire alarm systems.
Read and interpret wiring/technical diagrams, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, job specifications, and MOP/SOP/EOPs (Maintenance/Standard/Emergency Operating Procedures), helping to generate when necessary.
Use hand tools, test equipment, and perform basic operations to perform MOP/SOP/EOPs; also including to install, troubleshoot, and repair per documentation and established safety guidelines, then ensuring these activities are logged into tracking systems (e.g., CMMS).
Hold/obtain knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory, government regulations, etc.
Other duties, as assigned. Education, Equivalent Experience, and Environmental Factors: Technical education or equivalent 3+ years' experience in related environments, Required: technical school with emphasis on critical operations, electrical, mechanical, high-performance manufacturing, relevant military operational, or other relatable experience. EPA Universal certification
Eligible for a security clearance, in many but NOT all cases.
Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
