We are looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to lead our Integrated Product Team within a key segment of the the Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System (APKWS) portfolio. This portfolio of projects operates from our Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) product line in the Precision Strike Business Area. The ideal candidate will work with Engineering Leadership and Program managers, as well as the supplier base to assist with the next generation of APKWS products, expected to expand the Distributed Aperture Semi Active Laser System (DASALS) capabilities. This role requires the candidate to be an outgoing, well-connected self-starter who will have direct customer interface to derive and shape the next generation of this portfolio in order to meet the US Government's mission value. The candidate must also be willing to make contributions that routinely span from direct hands-on problem solving and mentorship, to development and achieving respect in peer, customer, supplier and industry relationships, and helping to shape the long-term strategic direction and objectives of the business area and BAE as a whole through technical expertise The APKWS Systems Engineering IPT Lead will augment the PGSS Precision Fires Technical Director and the Business Area Engineering Director in focusing on expanding the application space of the APKWS products, to include Distributed Aperture Semi Active Laser (DASAL) systems, as well as use against Counter Unmanned Air Vehicle Systems (C-UAS). The role will interact with technical subject matter experts (SME's) from within the Product Line, and across Product Lines to exploit growing and relevant technologies, and support defining applicable RF/EO/IR Seeker technology and product roadmaps. BAE Systems will staff this role in our Hudson, New Hampshire facility. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with Semi-Active Laser Systems Understanding and background in RF/EO/IR systems architecture, modeling, design and test for guidance and navigation systems Experience in weapons systems design, missile systems design, or weapons systems performance analysis Familiarity with low cost and low SWaP design and development Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines Experience with field testing of guidance system applications. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Master's degree in either Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering
Experience in system architecting of solutions for guided projectiles Experience in DASAL Technology and Laser Guided Munitions Familiarity with Aeronautical properties and Computational Fluid Dynamics Ability to Coordinate vendors and teams in development of passive/active sensor systems for test/evaluation Assist in the flow down of requirements to testable modular hardware and software Support trade studies, presentations, proposals and related activities Familiarity with low cost and low SWaP design and development Experience leading technical teams Ability to understand and generate CONOPS Develop requirements in response to customer operational needs and mature operational concepts, and derive technical baselines necessary to meet the requirements Develop briefings, white papers, and analysis to support the business capture efforts Coordinate vendors and teams in development of passive/active sensor systems for test/evaluation Assist in the flow down of requirements to testable modular hardware and software Model Based Systems Engineering experience Experience working across the entire Systems Lifecycle Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
