The Descriptive Systems Modeling Group at Draper is looking for a college graduate student who can join a Systems Engineering team and help develop SysML Models for the next generation missiles, spacecraft & autonomous vehicles that are critical for our Nation's defense. This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students pursuing a Master's Degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field and who would like to gain experience with modern model based systems engineering approaches. Candidates for this position should be enthusiastic to pick up new skills during the course of their internship, and the ideal candidate will be willing to pursue additional learning and training and obtain OMG Systems Modeling certification and/or further study in Systems Engineering. This internship will be onsite at Draper's Cambridge, MA campus, with the ability to occasionally work from home. Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities
• Job responsibilities will vary depending on the project assignment, which is tailored to the Student's skills and the Draper project lead. Education
• The Student must be enrolled in a graduate degree program (exceptional undergraduate Students will also be considered) in a relevant field such as computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, etc. • The Student should provide evidence of high aptitude and academic performance. Additional Job Description: Required Qualifications: Student currently working toward a Master's Degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, or related degree. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Science should already be completed. Due to the nature of Draper's work, US citizenship is required MATLAB and Simulink experience. Ideally, the applicant will have completed a course in Dynamic Systems Modeling or Control Systems. Some experience with scientific programming with Python Ability to work and succeed within a process-oriented team Great verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following skills: Familiarity with aerospace systems and related sciences
