To learn more about Mission Technologies, click here for a short video: Job Description Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is searching for a qualified candidate to fill the roll of Technical Support Specialist. The candidate is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and installation of telecommunication and related communications systems supporting range operations. Accomplishes assigned tasks independently in accordance with overall project objectives and requirements. Daily testing and operations of communications equipment to include but not limited to Digital Radio Management System (DRMS), UHF/VHF Air-to-Ground Radios, Simple key Loader (SKL), Multifunctional Information Distribution Systems (MIDS), and Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS). Troubleshoot and repair network-based and RF communications systems. Inspects connections, fittings, and installed wire and cable sections for conformance to specifications. Performs the installation and maintenance of Ethernet, fiber, and other data transmission lines as required. May assist in the troubleshooting of LAN/WAN equipment such as routers, hubs, and switches. Assist the Pacific Beach Network Administrator with maintenance on ancillary network communication systems. Documents maintenance actions in IEMS. The position requires flexibility to work non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements. Essential Job Responsibilities Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. Minimum Qualifications 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field OR
1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
Five years' experience in Telecommunications, operations, and maintenance
Five years' experience in the following disciplines/equipment: Voice and data communications systems

Complete various DoD and corporate reoccurring training requirements, to include Information Assurance Training, CPR, and First Aid
Physical Requirements Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Routine travel to remote site facilities involved. Work is occasionally performed in a shop or other facility environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock.
