Overview
The QA Testing Technician is responsible for auditing the manufacturing process, collecting evidence and data concerning the performance of the manufacturing process, and quality of materials produced. The QA Testing Technician reports on and assists in resolution to observed problems. This position also works on quality-related projects with direction from the Quality Manager. In addition, this position functions as a feeder role to plant supervision.

PHYSICIAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Able to see, hear and speak; able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time, sit, bend, crawl, squat, kneel and climb. Able to use both arms and hands to use computer, peripherals, and lift 40 pounds from floor level to overhead. Able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms. Able to wear respirator and other PPE as required. Able to work extended shifts and weekends as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Able to work inside or outside the plant environment and in all climate conditions. Exposed to lead, fumes, chemicals, operating equipment, and vehicles.

The QA Testing Technician is responsible for auditing the manufacturing process, collecting evidence and data concerning the performance of the manufacturing process, and quality of materials produced. Responsibilities
- Understands testing requirements for materials - Raw, Finished Goods, and Returns
- Understands manufacturing process including process specifications
- Assists in calibration program
- Communicates findings
- Wastewater Treatment - takes samples and maintains the logs
- Follow all established standard operating procedures while performing testing in laboratory
- Collect and prepare quarterly samples that are sent to the corporate testing lab
- Perform testing on industrial waste water prior to discharge
- Compile weekly quality report and update QMS with quarterly sample results.
- Provide training to new Techs, Engineers, Maintenance and Operators
- Participate in training and development programs including all areas of environmental, health and safety issues, especially those dealing with proper handling of hazardous materials and hazardous waste
- Position requires handling scrap material and disposable protective clothing containing lead which requires proper disposal as a hazardous waste, which are to be disposed of in appropriately marked hazardous waste containers
- Follow health and safety practices as they apply to area of work and the facility
- Perform appropriate housekeeping tasks as needed
- Performs other responsibilities and duties assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Good math, reading and writing skills
- Good computer skills
- Good blood lead required
- Moderate to heavy lifting (up to 40lbs)
- Capable of wearing a respirator as required by job position
- Good work record, attendance and possess good communication skills
- Must be available to work overtime
- Must be interested and able to transition to a plant supervision role
