Job Summary: The Air Threat Analyst serves as a multi-source intelligence analyst for A2A's complex requirements. Focuses on air threat analysis and intelligence reporting for the AOR. Represents organization in national, joint, and coalition meetings and working groups. Has AF ISR experience to leverage while evaluating, revising, and developing analytical products. This position requires effective critical thinking skills, time management, and the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Essential Functions: Provides services and support for multi-source air threat analysis and intelligence reporting for the USCENTCOM AOR.
Supports assessments for contingency planning as required.
Performs daily reviews and analysis of national/tactical SIGINT technical reports.
Drafts daily/weekly operational summaries of adversary air/air defense activities for 9 AF (USAFCENT) to distribute to national, tactical and strategic customers.
Reviews SIGINT (FISINT) products and threat analyses to 9 AF (USAFCENT) for release to the warfighter at the lowest possible classification level.
Assists in development and review of CFACC's prioritized intelligence requirements and corresponding intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance collection requirements in support of current operations and contingency planning.
Provides expert analytic support through the authoring and critical review of adversary Airpower related products, ensuring an emphasis on potential implications to 9 AF (USAFCENT) plans and/or operations, or USAF and ally aircrew training. These products may include, but are not limited to PowerPoint presentations, formal messages, background papers, and items of interest, collection requirements, production requirements, RFI answers, and staff summary packages for general officers, CAOC/9 AF (USAFCENT) staff and supported unit reviews.
Provides critical oversight of training on predictive and forensic analysis of adversary lethal and non-lethal, manned and unmanned, fixed and rotary-wing assets. Sub-topics include command and control; active and passive detection; targeting systems and deliverable effects; comparative platform capabilities; operational readiness and sortie generation rates; mission support capabilities and requirements; denial and deception techniques.
Serves as the Airpower Advisor to CENTAT, providing analytic oversight and quality control to bi-annual CENTAT working groups. CENTAT reports comprise the backbone of the USAF's TTP's Procedures Manual 3-1, directly impacting how the USAF 'trains to fight.'
Provides expert analytic support to 9 AF (USAFCENT) planning, authoring and reviewing prioritized intelligence and production requirements, intelligence estimates, and annexes and appendices.
Serves as the adversary Airpower authority on 9 AF (USAFCENT)'s Red Team, during war-gaming and exercises, and in support of 9 AF (USAFCENT)'s adaptive planning processes.
As directed, leverage all formal and informal analytic exchanges, as well as training opportunities, in order to foster peer-to-peer collaboration, ensure thorough vetting of products, and deliberately pursue/maintain acuity on essential elements of tradecraft.
Maintains coordination/coordination, critical to mission success, with: the National Command Authority; National, International, and Service Intelligence Centers; Combatant Commands, Air Components, and Wing Intelligence.
Maintains specialized intelligence and operations community accesses pertinent to their functional area, in order to enhance situational awareness and planning support. One, some, or all of the following may be required, and this list should not be considered definitive: ACCM, JSTO, Limited Distribution Signals Intelligence reporting, and Limited Distribution Human Intelligence reporting.
Supports other Analytical related duties as required.
Knowledge Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree or six (6) years' USAF experience.
Four (4) years' experience comparable
Formal Intelligence Analysis training
Experience briefing/analyzing adversary aircraft capabilities with special emphasis on unmanned aerial systems
Must possess a valid US passport
TS/SCI current clearance Education:
• Bachelor's Degree or 6 years of relevant DoD experience Preferred: Working knowledge of USCENTCOM AOR, political/military threats, understanding of violentextremist organizations, terrorist organizations, working knowledge of intelligence analysis and TTPs.
