ManTech is looking for a Network Systems Engineer to support our contract with Program Manager Ground Weapons Systems, Long Range Unmanned Surface Vessel, in Quantico, VA Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Brief leadership on the health of systems locally and throughout the enterprise to support the
DoD Acquisitions process.
Provide customers recommendations to increase performance and redundancy of current network configurations and recommendations for future upgrades.
Assist customers with the development of network architectures, to include the use of various communication mediums for Line-of-Sight and Beyond-Line-of-Sight (ex. satellite communications (SATCOM) and radio communications).
Update/Create documentation as needed (user guides, admin guides, knowledge base articles, FAQs, quick reference guides, network diagrams)
Provide training to peer engineers as needed.
Setting up IP schemas for multi-tenant environments
Configuring physical and virtual switching, routing, and firewall protocols, ports, and services
Interface with vendors to address problem escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
Researches, evaluates, recommends, and provides quality assurance review and evaluation of new and existing networking products, technologies, and enhancements to support the DoD Acquisition Process.
Plans and coordinates major computer network initiatives.
Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software, and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.
Develops and executes disaster recovery and contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages Minimum Qualifications: DoD 8570 IAT II required. Must have and maintain at a minimum, an active Security+CE and associate level or higher Network Certification
Bachelors Degree and at least 2 years of related experience. Additional 3 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
Related experience must include the following:
Working knowledge of the DoD Acquisition Process.
Familiar with network monitoring software
Working knowledge of network standards/protocols/security, hardware, and application
virtualization
Working knowledge of local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including
bandwidth management
Hands-on experience with network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges,
firewalls, servers, transmission media, and related hardware.
Hands-on experience with network systems design, development, testing, installation,
operations, management, and maintenance concepts and methods
Working knowledge of SATCOM antenna systems, radio communication systems, and their
integration into network architectures and configurations
Working knowledge and understanding of the Team Awareness Kit (TAK) architecture and
Cursor on Target message format.
Familiar with development and operational TAK use cases, including situational awareness,
mission planning, and real-time collaboration Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of standard DoD and Marine Corps concepts, practices, and procedures
Support to tactical SATCOM programs.
Working knowledge of SATCOM ground station (hub) configurations
Ability to evaluate proposals and Requests for Information
Familiarity with Load Balancers (hardware and software)
Cloud experience - AWS Preferred
Juniper Operating System (JUNOS) and/or CISCO IOS
Strong TCP/IP foundation, BGP, QoS, and Multicast
Network Security Appliances to include Type1 encryption devices.
Video Teleconference (VTC), Desktop VTC, and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) integration and management
WAN technologies, protocols, and optimizers Clearance Requirements: Active Secret Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work
