Engine Controls Shiprider. Have an understanding of Navy Electrical and Electronics Training Series (NEETS) and Electrician's Mate Rating Manual.
Accomplish infrared (IR) surveys per IR guidebook and MIP 3000 to identify over heating condition of wirings and connections within switchboards, motor controllers and other electrical equipment. Surveys will include electrical equipment on all naval ship classes including:
Components, associated circuit boards and high-tension circuit breakers in the engineering spaces, combat systems spaces and other electrical equipment and systems throughout the ship
Propulsion plant equipment, Power generation, Auxiliary electrical systems power, Lighting circuits, Marine electrical systems, Electrical components, Fixtures, and Electrical control equipment.
Complete the power and lighting circuits and distribution tasking and requirements for Electrical and Amphibious Ship Control Systems including:
4160 VAC, 1000VDC, 450VAC, and 115 VAC
Marine electrical systems and transformers
Automatic Bus Transfer (ABTs) switches
Ship Service Diesel Generator (SSDG) and Main Propulsion Diesel Engine (MPDE) Controls
Gas turbine, steam turbine, and diesel generator sets including exciters
Electric/digital/hydraulic governor control systems
Synchronizer controls and the systems that support the operation of the system
400 HZ Converters and associated equipment
Degaussing systems and associated equipment/cables
Electric/electronic control, detection, alarm sensing, indicating, and monitoring systems and equipment
Propulsion generators, motors, Auxiliary Propulsion Motors (APM), Hybrid Electric Drive System (HEDS), and associated controls
Battery chargers, power supplies, line voltage regulators, Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), and batteries
Auxiliary motors and controls including automatic speed control, and associated controllers
Switch gear including instrumentation, controls, circuit breakers, reverse power relays, load shedding devices Multi-Function
Monitoring (MFM), Generator Protection Module (GPM) and No Break Power Supply (NBPS)
Miscellaneous systems such as Lube Oil Purifier Heaters, Vent fog precipitators, and Helicopter Electrical Servicing Station/Aircraft
Electrical Servicing Station (HESS/AESS)
Cathodic Protection, Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP)
