Job Summary
The Process Engineering Intern will support plant operations by assisting with the optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, performance, and productivity. Compensation
$19.00-$26.00/hr DOE

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
The Process Engineering Intern will support plant operations by assisting with the optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, performance, and productivity. This internship offers hands-on experience with process analysis, system monitoring, and problem-solving within a cement plant environment.
Compensation

Responsibilities
- Assist in daily tracking and monitoring of production goals for raw grinding systems, pyro processes, and cement ball mill systems.
- Work with plant management to identify and address deviations from budgeted operating specifications.
- Conduct process audits under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure operational efficiency.
- Support the analysis of clinker microscopy and assist with weekly and quarterly reporting.
- Collaborate with the Controls and Automation Engineer to optimize and streamline plant operations using process computer systems.
- Contribute to capital project reviews, focusing on process efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts for process failures and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Work with supervisors and operators to identify opportunities for process improvements and modifications.
- Help maintain records of operating parameters, process variables, and system targets.
- Assist with energy management projects, including the identification and implementation of energy efficiency initiatives.
- Support plant safety practices in all assigned duties.
Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Process or Automation Engineering.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Good attendance and punctual
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehicles
Preferred:
- Experience with equipment management software
- Prior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry
