Expert Imagery Scientist_SAR Position Requirement: • MUST BE A US CITIZEN • ACTIVE TS/SCI CLEARANCE REQUIRED • MUST HAVE 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS AN EXPERT IMAGERY SCIENTIST WITH PERFORMING THIS ROLE AT THE NATIONAL GEOSPATIAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY or ANOTHER INTEL AGENCY REQUIRED Locations: Springfield, VA areas
Job Type: Full-Time Employee Overview: Successful candidate must have expert knowledge, demonstrated experience with applied image processing and advanced analysis of radar imagery. Education and Experience levels: • Bachelor of Science or higher in image science, remote sensing, earth science, physical science, engineering, computer science, statistics, or similar engineering/science field. • Expert knowledge and skills with applied image processing and advanced analysis of radar imagery including, but not limited to: Extensive knowledge of imaging radar physics, phenomenology, and phase history processing. Proficient with imaging radar analysis techniques utilizing advanced imaging and signal processing methods and tools to support new signature and methodology development Detailed understanding of sensor design principles and their relationship to sensor performance in this phenomenology / discipline. Demonstrated knowledge and usage of NSG imagery ordering tools, electric light tables and products. • Proficiency and 4-6 years experience with applied image processing and science analysis of LIDAR data , including, but not limited to Experience and proficiency in scientifically processing and exploiting LIDAR data, to include viewshed line of sight analysis, point cloud manipulation and editing, Z-clipping, slope, hillside, aspect analysis, feature digitization, fopen analysis, and 3-D modelling. Experience in scientifically processing LIDAR data from civil and commercial imaging systems. Understanding of sensor design principles and their relationship to sensor performance in this phenomenology / discipline. Proficiency using ArcGIS (to include spatial analysis, 3D analyst, and preferably LIDAR Analyst); QT modeler and ENVI. • Proficiency in developing and delivering lesson material in a formal classroom environment or for digital recording in video or CBT format. • Formal training in remote sensing and/or earth science / physical science or engineering / mathematics disciplines. • Proficient in IDL, Java, C++, Visual Basic, Matlab, R, or other coding languages • Proficient in Matlab, IDL, or similar image / signal processing capability • Knowledge and experience in GIS software and methodological principles, especially ArcGIS. • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline. • Proficiency in Google Earth engine, ESRI Arc service, Tableau, Web service development • Experience with GIS software and methodological principles, especially ArcGIS. • Excellent interpersonal written and communicative skills, and the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the GEOINT community. • Demonstrated familiarity with US intelligence community, specifically imagery collection and exploitation and GEOINT's role in intelligence mission. • Experience collaborating with all national and service intelligence agencies/centers. • Knowledge in tasking of overhead intelligence collection systems. • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Access, and Excel • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
